What is WebClix?
WebCliX can count every single click on hyperlinkes located on
you Inter- or Intranet Homepage. Let's say you are interested to know
which download is the most popular on your Website. Just add the links
to your downloadable files to the WebCliX configuration and replace the
hyperlink URL's you've just added to WebClix with a new URL pointing to
WebCliX -that's all. After WebCliX was activated successfully the
statistics can be viewed using your standard Webbrowser.
Requirements:
Because WebCliX is a native 32-bit Windows application it can
only run on Windows based Webservers (Apache for Windows, IIS, etc.).
Maybe there will be a Linux version later on (if there is enough
interest - let me know).
How does it work?
WebClix is working the way that it will pick up the number of
the destination URL from the URL parameter. It then reads the right
configuration file to get the destination URL. WebCliX then sends a REDIRECT
with this URL to the browser and does the counting for this entry. In
addition WebCliX provides an Web-interface to view its statistics.
If you have ideas/wishes as well please feel free to post them in the iDev Forum
