There is a function in Mail Inspector that can pop up a windows (and
other actions) as soon as new mail arrived on one of your mailboxes. To
do this you have to define a "Notification".
They can be found in the menu File > Options > Notifications.

Add a new one.
Edit that notification and give it a name and choose the account if needed.

Then switch to the second tab called "What".

Here you can configure
multiple actions done when this notification is fired. One of them is
"display a message box". This is the one you are looking for.

Check the
box and edit the message box settings using the "Configure" button next
to it.

Give it a try.
Additional Information:
With notifications you can do a lot more things. On the "When" tab you
can define complex filters to tell Mail Inspector when this
notification have to be fired. For example you can inter
"
This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
" as the Sender and play another sound only when you
get mail from Mary.
As you maight saw you can do other things than displaying a message
box. To confiure this go to the "What" tab and choose one or more of
the other actions. These are:
- Show a message box just as you did before.
- Play a sound from a .WAV audiofile. There are some default
sounds shiped with Mail Inspector but you can choose also your own
soundfiles.
- Show an animation in the system tray (thats next to the
clock in the taskbar). You can choose one of the default animations of
Mail Inspector as well as defining your own tray-animation by creating
a bitmap file containing all the animations steps in it.
- Show a comic animation. This needs the Microsoft Agent
subsystem which needs to be installed on your system. On Windows XP it
is already pre-installed. You then can use one of the default Microsoft
Agents (Peedy, Robo, Merlin or Gene) or download one of hunderds of
additional agent characters from the web.
